Wave

WAVE follows Georgia’s independent filmmakers as they face a government crackdown that threatens their creative freedom. When the Ministry of Culture seizes control of their funding, filmmakers put aside competition and unite to defend their art, taking to the streets of Tbilisi. As tensions rise, their fight broadens to resist a Russian-style foreign agents law, which labels them as foreign agents for accepting international funding. Despite protests, the law is enacted, leaving the community vulnerable ahead of a disputed election. Through raw footage and personal stories, WAVE reveals the power of art in the face of censorship and the resilience of those who refuse to be silenced.

Adam's Tooth

In a field next to the small Georgian village of Orozmani, on a misty day, two archaeologists and a stray dog stage a protest. The quiet spot quickly transforms into a gathering place for villagers, activists, journalists, and friends. After years of struggle, this is their last chance to “release” a 1.8-million-year-old tooth from the “custody” of the Georgian Ministry of Culture while also saving the skeleton of a prehistoric wolf. As day turns to night, under the full moon, the two friends discuss what it means to be human, while the stray dog keeps watch over the ancient wolf.
